New test results

I saw my endocrinologist today for my annual thyroid appointment. I have Hasimotos, so that’s why I see him. I asked for a couple extra tests on my blood work, liver, A1C, glucose, and vitamin D. My vitamin D is a little low, and my thyroid if functioning well, which was surprising because of the way I’ve been feeling. Guess it might be some other things! My liver levels are high, so fatty liver. My A1C is higher than I think it’s ever been, 6.4, and my glucose is high at 123. So he’s classifying me as prediabetic. I think these blood results are coming at a great time when I’m trying to decide which surgery to have. I was leaning toward sleeve, but now I’m going to talk to the surgeon about the gastric bypass. Not great results, but also helps me feel more confident in which surgery to pursue.

I'm sorry about your test results but sounds like the timing is absolutely perfect. I'm really glad to hear that you're using this bad news to help you make a choice. It takes a progressive way of thinking to turn bad news into a tool, to steer you in the right direction. Optimism is contagious so thank you for sharing with us all. :)
