I had the lap band 8-26-2008. HW298 CW225
LW208. I have had some problems with the lap band. Im in the process of trying to have the sleeve done. I was wondering if there's anyone on here that has had the lap band and now got the sleeve. Has it been better for you?

Welcome to our group! Yes, I had lapband surgery about 10 years ago and last year had a revision to VSG. I like it so much better. I had to have the restriction removed from the lapband and I was having problems. Once I did that the weight came back on rather quickly but I didn't have a revision until last year. My only regret was that I wish I didn't wait so long for the revision.

Do you have the same restrictions that you had with your lab band or do you have different ones? I have trouble with rice, bread, pasta and a lot of the meat(it has to be really moist and even then it can be a problem). Which the rice bread and pasta I don't needed anyway. LOL From what I'm reading you can have a different reaction to thing with the different procedures. Have you?

No, not really the same restriction. Bread would have been a problem with the lapband (before I had the restriction removed). Now I can eat once slice of thin sliced bread but I rarely do. I have been able to eat 1/2 of a BLT, that is about the only sandwich I have tried. But there still are some foods I need to be careful of. If I have rice or pasta it is a very small amount after I have had my protein. I more or less feel like now it is more quantity that is being restricted rather than certain foods. Some foods will cause a problem quicker than others because the food tends to be dense and I might have eaten one bite too many. I hope that helps.
