Newbie whose hungry

Hi,
I had my surgery January 18, 2020. I’m down 11/12 pounds from the last I checked but haven’t checked recently. But I find myself struggling. Tomorrow I start the puree portion of the diet but I’m so hungry, my stomach growls and I can’t stomach broth anymore. Is anyone having issues with this or what to do? I’m constantly looking online to see when I can eat “normally” because I do have a very basic palette as is but don’t know what to do. I don’t want to do anything incorrectly and gain weight but I’m just so hungry.

I had my surgery (VGS) on January 22. My doctor has prescribed a 30 day liquid diet. I am drinking protien shakes twice a day, intermixed with various homemade vegetable stocks and chicken bone broth. I have also found some REALLY good organic bone broths on Amazon from a company called Kettle and Fire.

I don't get hungry, but I get cravings. Strong cravings. Last night I was up late watching TV and my mind told me I needed chips and salsa... like 9-1-1. It was brutal. I settled for a cup of my homemade vegetable stock and chicken bone broth.

I won't get pureed food until February 22.

I am hoping this difficult time will help me rehab my eating habits, so that I can start over fresh and new.

Hello! The "hungry" feeling at first is the worst! I had my sleeve done on 9/17/2019. The first few weeks were brutal. Follow the diet your surgeon has guided you to follow. I was afraid of over eating at first, but then figured out I wasn't eating enough.. liquids, pureed and soft foods. Pureeds were a real issue for me. Try the ricotta bake (pinterest). I am a picky eater, so it was a struggle. I used to love carbs! Once you are able to eat soft food, try homemade chicken meatballs. I found a recipe on pinterest, they were the best! It's all mental at this time, or so that's how I feel. The hunger nerve is no longer in our pouch, it's our brains telling us we are hungry. My stomach would also make noises. You will gain control of this, and you will succeed!! Best of luck.
