Good morning! My name is Jess. I currently have a LapBand. I have had it for around 15 years. I initially lost 100lbs with it, but began having problems with aspiration at night about 3 years ago. I had all of the fill taken out, and have gained all my weight back plus 30lbs. I will see my surgeon on July 8 to talk about converting to gastric bypass. I'm tired of missing out on life! I'm ready to get this done. I'm pretty sure my insurance won't cover the surgery. I'll be making that phone call Monday.

I hope insurance covers it. I feel that in these United States, these surgeries-at the very least- should be covered by all insurances! I am expecting my bypass next mo (July). Everything, but my copay and the required psychological review, including the 8 mo required program for my insurance, was covered.
I have 3 friends who had lapband surg 5 + yrs ago and 2 experienced weight gain. One has undergone bypass about 5 mo ago and has lost about 70 lbs.
Hope it works out for you. For all of us!
