Next Step

It's been a week since my gastric sleeve surgery. Tomorrow I will meet with the surgeons PA about going to puree foods. I have been doing liquids just fine except for 1 episode of dry heaving due to dehydration. What can I expect with the big move to pureed foods. This has been a long time coming and previously had a lap band. I finally have been addressing my eating and depression over the past year and this was the next logical step.

Hello and welcome. I am almost 2 years out but my husband just had the sleeve and did puree last week. We did a ricotta bake (recipe online), mashed potato/cauliflower mix, baked sweet potato, refried beans, and slow cooked turkey meatballs mashed into a marinara sauce. Everything worked out okay.

Just make sure to eat slow. And serve yourself a very small portion. It creates a good habit, where you have to consider if you're still hungry and makes it harder to accidentally eat that one bite too many that will make you miserable.
