My name is Kirsten, I'm new. I'm 31, always struggled with my weight. I just had my gastric bypass surgery on the 13th. I'm having some mental issues with it, but otherwise I'm healing ok. It's one of the hardest surgeries I have ever had. I'll be glad when I am fully healed and can get around without relying on anyone. Anyways, nice to meet you all.

Hi Kirsten, congratulations on your surgery. Many of us have gone through what you are when it comes to missing food, especially so early on when you can't have much of anything. It's totally normal.

In my experience, as time went on and I developed my "new normal" diet and routine, that inner voice quieted a lot. And as I started loosing a ton of weight, that feeling of victory overpowered it. :)

Reading some self-help books can also help, along with affirmations. Keeping a positive outlook will help more than anything else. Keep writing, we're here and we've been there! :)
