My doctor has me eating solids and yes I keep a food log I was doing 2 protein shakes a day but she wants me to do just one and eat more food ...and I'm exercising it like a pound or 2 here and thereCan you be more specific and are you in An early phase of the diet now, or are you onto solid foods? Do you keep a food diary. ? I have the stupidest Google Voice. Interpreter here. So sorry. I'm going to try to fix this stuff before I post again. .
I think this is really important! Expectations can absolutely kill our motivation, and derail us! If you, or anyone, is concerned you are not "losing weight fast enough", just remember you ARE losing weight, and that is the victory. Some people lose weight faster or slower. But the goal is to lose the weight. How many pounds did you expect to lose?
I hope I'm on the right track. I have had several complications. From dehydration to stool impaction. All from not drinking enough. Trying to get more fluids downYOU really need to be more specific. And always follow your doctor's advice.
However, you should be on solid or semi-solid food by now and using a protein shake as a meal doesn't work, and may even be bad for your weight loss. Do a search for it.
Are you eating or drinking anything that is NOT on your healing diet? You're being so vague, it's impossible to give you informed advice.

As long as you're following your plan, your body is just adjusting. You will start loosing again! Unfortunately plateaus seem to hit without reason from time to time. Just keep up the hard work.I am almost 11 weeks post surgery and I have stopped losing. I am very strict I am following instructions exactly. I am eating between 500 & 600 calories per day and getting a minimum of 60 grams of protein per day. I have not cheated even once. I am exercising somewhat, but I have been lacking in that department because I have back problems, but I'm getting much better.
I have been to several bariatric sites online like the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Tuffs University, etc.. looking for guidelines for post surgery diet and they all say something different as to the guidelines when to move from one phase to another. Some say eat solid foods after 4-6 weeks, some say wait until after 12 weeks. I was losing from 3 to 3.5 lbs per week until 2 weeks ago, then I stopped in my tracks and the scale hasn't budged, yet I have stuck with the eating plan. I knew there would be plateau's along the way, but I did not think they would come this soon. I have lost 37 lbs so far. Any advice ?
