One month out from surgery...and STALLED for 2 weeks?

Hi. I am having this exact same problem. Surgery June 22 I met with my surgeon and was freaking out. He said it's a plateau, it will come off. But I've been really stressed. I'm on the scale every day like WTH? I read the average weight loss is 5-15lbs per week. I have averaged 3-4 a week and thank my lucky stars for that first big loss or it would be WAY less. I am doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. So, a few days ago, I stopped weighing. I will find out what I weigh when I see the doctor. I FEEL great. My sugar (I'm diabetic) is at non-diabetic levels with no meds. I'm eating right and walking at least 20 minutes a day. I am going to relax and have faith that if I work the plan the plan will work for me. Because otherwise I am going to make myself crazy.

Never underestimate the power of the mind.
This is exactly the space I'm living in and plan to stay in. Follow directions to a "T," drink, drink, drink water. Walk, walk, walk at least 30 min a day or longer. Don't focus on the scale. I'm going to be cautious about doing anything that might stretch my stomach. Eat slowly, savor tastes, don't drink 30 min before or after a meal. Get smaller containers for food. Use small plates. "F" the scale - measure by how I feel, how my clothes fit, how many medications I can get rid of (three so far), how active I am, what new things can I do, how much more active time I get with my daughter, how many times I feel like going out for walk or a hike with my wife to find new birds (we got into birding last year), and on and on. There are SO MANY things you can measure success with that are NOT THE SCALE.

QUALITY OF LIFE is the measure, not just weight. A little over one week removed from surgery and my QOL is already improving. Medications have been dropped, I have more energy, I want to do more things (unfortunately I'm restricted by the 15lbs weight lifting restriction, for now), I know there are more QOL changes that are coming, regardless if I lose 0 pounds in a week or 15 pounds in a week.
