Pain

Hello. I'm 5.5 months post gastric bypass. Approximately a month ago I had significant pain in my lower abdominal area and some on my left side that radiated throughout the left side. I also couldn't tolerate even clear liquids. After an emergency laproscopy the surgeon said there was some scar tissue that had been holding part of bowel. It was still perplexing why I suddenly had issues.

Suddenly last night I couldn't tolerate an omelet and vomited. Today I started clear liquids again but I'm noticing the left side pain starting again. Has anyone else had this?

Hi Lola, I thought I had responded to this but apparently not.

Because you have been told you have this complicated scar tissue/bowel issue, you really need to seek additional medical attention. For what it's worth, I've never heard of anyone having this issue in the many years I've been a member of this group.

If you don't feel comfortable with the diagnosis you've gotten, you might want to see a gastroenterologist. Whatever you do, don't wait. Vomiting can make everything you've had done come apart at the seams. And it's not at all normal to vomit after healing from a laparoscopic procedure.

Please see a specialist about it, if you haven't already.
Thank you very much.
