Purée-yuck!

Have you tried foods that are naturally a puree texture? I liked scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, mashed sweet potatoes and butternut squash. But I still used a lot of full liquid meals as well, since I didn't mind blended soups. My program sent us home with a list of "recipes" for puree week that actually had a recipe for a cheeseburger that said throw a cheeseburger in the blender with beef broth. So, I understand how you can be grossed out. I didn't actually puree any meat that wasn't in a soup.

I did great With the pre-surgical Robard diet for two weeks. I did fine with clear liquids, followed by liquids. My struggle is the puréed phase and I find myself cheating, although with soft well chewed food. Purées gross me out! Any advice?

Others are giving great suggestions in other posts, but I wanted to let you know you’re not wrong. It was pretty disgusting for me, too. I could not wait to get through that transition phase. I swear it would have been easier to just drink protein shakes 3-4 times a day for me. The blended chicken salad worked for the first few days. Then I was desperately seeking new recipes online and on Pinterest. I’d stare at the blender with such anger. But I guess it makes sense, I was a stress eater— I liked crunch. Not having anything to chew for 8 weeks (pre-surgery through post-surgery) was definitely the hardest thing I felt I endured during the process. Hang in there. It’s just a few more weeks! You got this!
