Hi! I'm a 70 year old retired emergency dept rn who had roux n y gastric bypass done 12 02 2021 in Philly. I've happily lost 135lbs so far and am unhappily currently hospitalized with my second round of oral antibiotic-resistant uti. Currently on iv antibiotics (awaiting blood cultures) Have Googled all manner of oxalate stone formation( did NOT overindulge in beets, spinach, red meat, tea, cocacola( the big oxalate stone formers). Am well hydrated. No other complications.
Anybody else in this boat?
Possible discharge plans: daily antibiotic prophylaxis for the rest of my life along with my 4 daily Flintstone chewable and twice a day calcium citrate. ( stone lithotripsy, laser ablation then Stent removal this past summer for 11mm oxalate stone).
