I took the sleep syudy and passed. I am scared to death. I stop breathing in my sleep. Not sure what happened but, I took a sleeping pill and 2 nerve pills. Reason being I can't sleep' I go weeks with out sleep. The doctor gives be something to help me. I slept all night. But I never showed scored of not breathing 5 times. I am due for surgery soon. And I am calling the sleep doctor to take it again. The tech tried on the pillow type with oxegen & for the first time in my life I felt rested and relaxed. I am scared. Hoping this can be resolved,

My first sleep study was negative, also. But for the few minutes that I slept on my back, it was clear that something was going on, so they had me repeat the study lying on my back. I had sleep apnea 40 times and hour, which is about once every 1-1/2 minutes. Definitely not normal.
I don't know if they will repeat the test for you, but losing weight should help reduce sleep apnea, if you have it.
I'm still not use to be tethered to a machine, but I do fall asleep quickly on the CPAP. I have a humifier also, and I love when the air warms up and I can feel it-- very soothing.
