sleeve 1/8/20

I had the sleeve gastrectomy on 1/8/20 and have a few questions. Question one did anyone else have issues with their heart rate dropping after surgery and it staying around 40? Question 2, is it normal to have pain when drinking even water and always when eating ? It feels like its squeezing into my stomach by passing a bunch of air? is that even possible? I feel like anything I eat or drink is causing a lot of discomfort right in the middle of my chest kind of like a major camp. Is that normal until I finish healing or swelling goes away?
Thanks In Advance
Bridget

You are only a few day in. You have not even started healing. Make sure you are only taking small sip of liquids. The discomfort you might be feeling could be the gas they pump into your abdomen so they see how to move around. Some
people uses heat pads, I used gas x. They both help. But until all of that has passed it going to be a little uncomfortable.
Had you called you doctor about your heart rate?

Hi again,

I don't believe I had any issue with my heart rate but if you were released from the hospital, it must be back to normal?

Yes, I agree with Nicelady. At just 3 days in, some pain is normal. I'm shocked you've been allowed to eat already! Typically people are on liquid diets for a while. My surgeon emphasized that for the first couple weeks, my job was to stay hydrated.

Hopefully someone who had the sleeve will write as my experience was definitely different. Good luck and again, welcome. :)
