Hi Mimi, have you discussed this with your doctor and nutritionist? Does he/she seem to think you're on track with what they anticipated for you? Everyone looses at their own pace and many things can contribute to a slower-than-expected rate of loss. Your starting weight, age, prescriptions you make take, genetics... and a multitude of other things affect how each individual loses weight. I would talk to the pros before getting too discouraged. Please keep us posted.
Hey! Did you lose weight before surgery? I know several people who said they lost a lot before surgery and then it took several months after surgery to start losing weight because their bodies had to adjust. I would talk to you doc/ nutritionist either way as Brenda2010 suggested. Keep your chin up!
My nutritionist made me promise her one thing. That one thing was to not weigh myself everyday or at all if possible and to focus on eating right and trying to get my protein. Everyone loses weight the way thier body allows. It isn't a race and everyone no matter how much weight they lose in a couple of months wishes they lost more. Remember this isn't about the number it is about your health. Just keep doing the right things. 20 pounds is a LOT of weight. Can you even imagine losing that without the tools you've been given? We all had surgery because we needed a little extra help. You're doing fantastic as far as I'm concerned. If your doctor isn't worried then you shouldn't be either.
