I had sugery on 8/13 and i have a few questions
Do the popcils and broth count as a meal
do the popecils and broth count as 64 oz of liquids
and if I drink to much liquid or to fast am I going to strentch my pouch?

The popcicals and broth are clear liquids and can count toward your fluid intake of 64 oz. Since I don't know when you had your surgery, I can only relate my experience. I could only sip at first. Now at 3 months out I can drink more liquid without any discomfort. It sounds like you might want to speak with the nutrtionist at your surgeons as it can get confusing especially at first. I am sure someone will post about stretching your pouch with liquids. I'm inclined to say no, but I am not sure. I would thing you would have to have downed a great deal of liquid, and would feel much too uncomfortable in doing so.

Melissa, you did not say what kind of surgery you had. Juice, broth, popsicles, jello, water, and protein shakes all count toward your daily liquid totals. At first I was to count things like broth and jello as my meal. As long as you sip and drink slowly your pouch probably will not stretch. You should have a nutritionist at your surgery center who can better answer your questions and they should have given you plenty of literature on what to eat and drink at the beginning. I have a lapband so I was allowed two shakes a day but not as a substitute for a meal. My meals were juices, jello, popsicles and broth for the most part. Every center is different, and each type of surgery carries different requirements. Joy
