At 3 months out you can eat pretty much anything you want to but learn about nutrition. When you know about nutrition, you can make smarter choices about how much food you put on your plate. You might find there is a high protein item available to you for lunch, along with a few carbohydrate or fatty foods. Make most of your meal out of that high protein item. Eat slowly, take small bites, chew them at least 30 times and put your fork down between bites. Sit quietly while you eat so that you can pay attention to your chewing and swallowing.
As to what I was eating 3 months after surgery, I really don't remember. My diet already consisted of a lot of things recommended by the nutritionist. I did make Magic Milk a lot and I used it to make mushroom soup and pudding, and even though I could have had any pudding, I always used the no sugar no fat instant pudding.
And as much as you are able, swap out something high protein for something high-carbohydrate. Swap out something fresh and green for something canned and fatty.
Your obligation to your body after going through all this change is to understand what you are putting in your mouth that will travel to your stomach. Make sure you drink at least 64 oz of water everyday. You need it and it will help you both accelerate your weight loss and maintain your weight loss. Instead of using artificial sweeteners, eat something that is naturally sweet, like a ripe Peach. Whatever it is that you like to eat, the main ingredient that is found in the things you like to eat, that should be what you are eating.
Your diet will not provide you the nutrition you need. Don't forget to take two multivitamins a day, preferably chewable, along with the other vitamins and minerals you need for your particular situation. If you don't know what those are, ask a nutritionist. But I think that it's safe to say you should be taking in calcium, vitamin B12 complex, vitamin A, C and D. I also take probiotics and I take a mineral formulation I buy it Rite Aid that helps keep your bones strong. That is glucosamine chondroitin.
If you are taking a phalanx of vitamins and minerals, it matters much less what you are eating.
Are there some foods or dishes that you are unusually concerned about? Ask about them specifically and we can answer. And for that matter, what do YOU eat everyday?
