Unable to eat

So i haven't been able to eat solids for 2 days. I feel like I have food in my stomach and frankly it feels like it's creeping into my throat. I am able to drink liquids but I'm so uncomfortable. I don't understand what's going on. My surgery was 3 months ago today. Last night I had a fever of 102 but no fever today so I'm wondering if this is what it's like to have a stomach bug post op. Anyone else dealt with this before?

No, I have not but it sounds like u may have an infection, only bc of the fever. Just to be safe I would definitely go to a quick care if that's an option. I pray u feel better.

I agree April, it's probably nothing but better to be safe and see the doctor.

I’m Day 18 post-op. I have no appetite. There are some foods that actually make me nauseous to smell or look at. I added pomegranate juice and carrot juice to my liquid intake (1/4 of a cup of each daily). I enjoyed both and no side effects. I have a metallic like taste in my mouth most of the time. I haven’t vomited yet but I have waves of nausea. I tried to eat soft scrambled eggs this morning but after after two tiny bites I felt too full and nauseated. Yesterday I tried cottage cheese and same results as eggs.
I’m taking it slow with the eating thing. I know I need to eat but I’m having a hard time because I don’t desire any food and nothing even sounds good. I have an appointment to see my bariatric surgeon on Wednesday the 4th in Tyler. (2 hour drive from where I live) Hopefully he can help with my eating issues.
Anyone had any issues like mine with eating?
Thanks for listening! Have a blessed Sunday.

I am 4 weeks post op and I am struggling to eat, too. I can barely get a protein shake down and I know I’m not getting enough protein/ calories/ nutrients per day. I’m not yet on solid food and all the soft food I try makes me nauseous. Any ideas or tips would be most welcome. Thanks!

Thank you everyone. I reached out to my surgeon because I ended up with bowel problems. I had one heck of a virus. I ended up being ill for days, I couldn't eat or drink much of anything. I couldn't keep much down. Then bowel movements became a huge issue. I'm much better now but I will be taking a stool softener every day from here on out. I knew I was teetering on serious problems when my intestine started hurting and felt all twisty. Water is so important and I know that but when your sick and can't hold much down on top of being a bariatric patient it gets dangerous. If I get sick again with vomiting I will be going to get IV fluids to make sure I'm hydrated. Live and learn.

Ugh, sorry you were sick April but glad to hear that it wasn't something more serious related to your WLS. Hope you're feeling much better now. :)
