I assume you are talking about the Shiritaki noodles (in a plastic package in the refrigerated aisle). There is another called Miracle Noodles. I LOVE these and variations that include yam starch based noodles (more clear/white noodles that look more like rice noodles and many are zero carbs...
Hang in there... I think alot of us experience the same thing and it's confusing and shocking. Basically the body goes into "shock" and thinks it's starving so it tries to shut down the weight loss... you will have weeks where it goes very slow or no weight loss then drop more in a day or 2...
Hang in there guys! It took about a week before I could get in and out of bed without wincing... but it DOES get better... I PROMISE! My 4 week anniversary was just yesterday, and I couldn't be happier with my decision and feel so much better already!
Leah - WOW! How amazing what you have accomplished and so close to your goal! Congrats! Are you working with a bariatric nutritionist? If not, I'd highly recommend it. They can help you identify specific menu goals and what you should and should not be eating... sounds like some of it is...
I had my bypass on Feb 14th... lost a total of 25 lbs in the initial couple of weeks, then slowed to maybe 1 lb since... I've been told it's normal and will pick back up. Here's to hoping! :p
Lost 25 lbs in 1st 2 1/2 weeks... nothing in week 3... is that normal? I expected a slow down over the next 4-6 weeks but not this soon. Anyone else experience the same?
My sister had the sleeve surgery last week and by day 4, she complained that she was desperately hungry, which is quite foreign to me, since with the bypass I am still not experiencing hunger even almost 3 weeks out! Have any other sleeve patients had similar experiences? Any suggestions for...
I am doing great! I am so happy I made this decision. I had a lot of pain/discomfort for 48/72 hours, but next to no issues or complications since! Just following doctors orders, which have been easy for me. Weight loss a little slower than I thought it would be initially, but I cannot...
I'm still struggling some... I'm cutting out the Mio Energy drink flavoring liquid that I've been using to perk me up a bit... that helps some, but not completely. I'm now having some nights that I fall asleep fast, and others that I still lie awake for over an hour or more.
My favorite is Beef Pho broth... it's the broth in Vietnamese beef noodle soup, which is flavored with aromatic spices like star anise, five spice, cinnamon, pepper... if you have a Vietnamese Pho restaurant, just get some containers of the broth to go! It's wonderful. Also, vegetable broth is...
I am only less than 3 weeks post-surgery and I couldn't be happier with my decision... you will too! It's scary at first, but well worth it. Good luck!
I actually LOVE these noodle products... some are even made with Yam starch, which I guess is an "indigestible carb/starch", which makes it carb free and almost calorie free! I warn you though, they all have a texture and an odor that some people will not like. The texture is kinda "rubbery"...
