» Chat Room

Jan 07, 2013 - 1:59 PM - by AB-James
OK, the new Chat Room is up and running. I'm sure I'll still make a few minor changes to it as we work out some of the wrinkles with it. But it's now set up so that when you click on the 'Chatrooms' button on the bottom left corner of your web browser you will automatically be in the main chat room.

If you want to have Private Chats with people you can also do that now. You can create your own chat room that is password protected or invitation only if you would like. The private chat room will automatically delete itself if there is no activity in it for 30 minutes. You could also click on somebody's name in a chat room to send them a private chat message.

The 'popout' button in the chatroom will just cause the chat room to move to the middle of your screen in a separate box.

The button in the bottom right corner of your browser should say 'Friend's Online (#). This shows people that you have added as a Friend on the forums. It will tell you if they are available to chat or not. Those people could be on the forums but not available to chat though.

To the right of the 'Friend's Online' button is the 'Chat Settings' button. From here you can choose to be 'Available' or 'Offline'. If you don't want to be available to chat you can select 'Offline' and you won't show up as available on your Friend's list.

Let me know if you guys have any problems with the Chat Room. You may still see some minor changes with it..

» Working on a new Chat Room..

Dec 26, 2012 - 12:41 PM - by AB-James
I know a lot of people have had trouble getting into the Live Chat Room, so I started looking into some other Chat Room software we can use on our site. There's a new Chat Room now on the homepage just under where the old one is. I'm still working with the settings on it but it should be working fine within in the next few days. Feel free to test it out and let me know what you think.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas!!

» Local Support Groups

Oct 15, 2012 - 4:49 PM - by AB-James
I've recently added a feature that you can see in the top Navigation Bar called "Local Support Groups". It's a pretty cool feature I saw on a different type of website and figured out how to add it to our site. If you click on the tab, it'll take you to a page where you can search for local support groups by using the map, or selecting by State. (Nothing is showing up yet except for the Testing.. group I made). But from that page you can enter your Local Support Group's information and it will add it to the Map. Then, once your support group is added, there will be a Forum page built just for that Local Support Group so you can stay updated with each other before meeting at your local spot. It seems like it could be a neat feature for this site, but we'll need to work on adding the Local Support Groups. So, if any of you have a Local Support Group that you want to add, please feel free. (I know we had another place on the Forums for adding Local Support Groups, so I may copy over some from there too.)
