    Pouch Question

I'm glad to hear you don't have an ulcer! Hopefully, they'll figure out the problem soon.

    After Surgery day3

Thank you, Cheyenne. :) No, I lost 83 lbs in the 8 months before surgery. I still have 98 lbs to go, but I was already told not to expect to hit goal in the first year. I feel amazing, so I'm okay with that. One day at a time.

Is it normal to feel this way (3 weeks post op)

Very, very normal. I think they should just tell people that they're going to regret surgery in the first two to three months. I had similar problems and I too absolutely hated protein shakes! I used to have to try to choke them down by holding my nose. Even then, yuck! It gets a lot easier with...

    After Surgery day3

Are you drinking straight water? I had a horrible time with water for a while after surgery. Light juice diluted with water (1/2 & 1/2) worked well, so did lipton tea with sweet & low and crystal light. I don't know why that made a difference for me, but it worked. It does get easier, so just...

    Burning up

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That was the second symptom of my ulcer. The first was strange, extremely loud gurgling after I had eaten. I don't know about sleeve patients, but RNY patients are not allowed to take Pepto because it has aspirin. I made that mistake and it helped...

It's OFFICIAL.... I am going Bald or Post SUrgical Hair Loss.

Just today, I noticed what appears to be a new crop of hair sticking up maybe two inches long. I still feel like I'm losing a lot of hair, but I may not be going bald after all - hooray!

    Good news and bad news

I wound up having an upper GI due to epigastric pain after two weeks of Carafate. Turns out my ulcer is fully healed. The doctor determined that the pain I was feeling was most likely my gallbladder. I'm pretty sure it was entirely my fault as I'd fallen asleep the night before without taking my...

    waiting is so hard!

I didn't get approved right away either. I had to go in for therapy prior to approval because the psychologist believed I was depressed. So, I went in and explained why being morbidly obese was depressing. I was approved in no time. Stick with it and you will prevail. I wish you the best of luck.

    Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the situation as I see it: You had a setback. You acknowledged it & dedicated yourself to losing the weight you gained. As a result, you only have 37 lbs to lose before you get back to your previous weight. It won't be easy, but you already know you're capable of accomplishing this...

    Let the Journey...Begin......

My insurance required a physician documented year of attempted weight loss through diet and exercise and at least three meetings with a nutritionist. I had been trying to lose weight for an eternity, so the entire process took about 6 months from first seminar to surgery date. It went faster...
