Weak and weaker everyday

Weak

New Member
I had gastric sleeve surgery in Dec of 2015. I have lost 50 pounds. Now it seems that I have forgotten what I did to lose it. I have fallen back into all my old eating habits. I hope that I can find my way back to weight loss with lots of encouragement from you all. I will be reading your posts and trying to find my way back. I am handicapped and I would love tips for exercising. I can never give up.

You can find the strength. You lost 50 pounds that's awesome. The strength is deep inside. I'm handicapped, I don't have surgery til may 18 but walking is painful. I use water to exercise. It's such low impact. And spring is here.....the sun helps

Thank you Monica that's an excellent idea I will certainly give it a try. Good luck in your efforts and keep up the good work.

I haven't had surgery as of yet. ..hopefully May or June. ..but can you utilize your nutritionist where you had surgery? Mine told me if I ever need any help to call her and if I'm gaining call her and we'll figure it out. I to am handicap.....hurts so bad to walk....pool therapy really helps...sometimes the YMCA offers classes for aerobic exercise in water. I have also googled sitting exercises and checked on You Tube....using exercise bands and hand weights. I also found at a Goodwill store one of those exercise bike pedals one can use on floor for legs or on tabletop for the arms. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!!

Thanks, that is very encouraging. I have talked to my nutritionist and I am finally about to get back on track. I appreciate the advice and I will definitely use it.

Where did you get your surgery? Are you getting adequate support from there, both emotionally and medically?

Hi there,

My mother uses a chair, and she uses resistance bands, or light weights to use for strengths training. She does leg raises while sitting down to workout the legs. She does go walking a lot. She has a really bad back and the surgery was to relieve her back pain from the weight she was carrying. She is starting those aquatic exercises in a few weeks, she has these workout machines that are really old like from the 70's I think. Real easy things like a thing that lets you workout your arms, and it sits on a counter so she is just cycling her arms, she has a stepper that she stands on and does her little leg workouts, real simple but effective.

Maybe once you get hooked up with a group of individuals, not necessarily that have had weigh loss surgery, but that are in the same spot as you, you will start to get motivation from that group and get re-vamped in your eating and workouts. Always try to fill your circle up with positive and encouraging people.

Be blessed

Debbie
