My surgeon said no acid for 6 weeks post op, so nothing with tomato or vinegar. But others might have other guidelines.

I waited 5 to 6 weeks b4 i had any tomatoes.

When I advanced to the soft food plan I was told I could have tomato sauce without seeds.

Once on pureed foods, my nutritionist actually suggested pureeing a meatball in tomato sauce. I also added salsa to my scrambled egg at that phase without issue. But definitely check with your doctor, they are all so different.

I was allowed tomato soup right away and was actually one of my staples in the liquid phase. However nothing with skin or seeds for several weeks to months.
