Pre surgery

Welcome! Tell us about yourself. How long have you been wanting weight loss surgery? I had RNY in October.
Hello!!! I live in a little town in Indiana, called Brazil, about an hour from Indianapolis. I work as a teacher assistant in an elementary school.
I've been wanting it for a while. Here recently I've been having a lot of problems with my back and hips, and I'm just like it's time!!!!!!!!!!
How are you liking the rny???

I think it was a great fit for my needs. I went into the process thinking about having the sleeve but was open minded about RNY. It’s been an interesting ride so far. No horrible complications, just some women issues that I wasn’t expecting with fast weight loss, but hopefully they’ll be resolved soon. I see my NP tomorrow for my 6 month post op to talk about my blood work. I think one of the reasons why I’ve done well is how much prep work I did before hand. I started with monthly goals for the small things, that end up being very big things, after surgery.

Hello and welcome to the group. I had the RNY in June of 2020. I can't believe I will soon be coming up on my 1 year surgiversary. I have been lucky in that I did not have any complications and really have not had any issues with being unable to eat certain foods/dumping syndrome. I also live in Indiana, although I am just outside of Chicago instead of Indy. The best thing to do is to start making small changes immediately so you don't have to try to make all the changes all at once. For example, you can start drinking more water, if that's a problem area for you. Then once you have that down, add in a new "habit" that will help you on your journey. Good luck.
