Baby food fruits?

Even before surgery I loved baby food but only the fruits and meat sticks. I see that many of them have natural sugars but are pretty high at like 20-22g with no added sugars. Have any of you tried them and if so did you get sick from all the sugar? That’s really my only worry but being that I’m a sleeve patient and not bypass I’m less likely to get sick from sugars but I’m also not trying to push it.

I was told by my WLS team, absolutely no baby foods, not even for puree stage. So many have added sugar, and those that don't end up super high in sugar due to the concentrated nature, kind of like most fruit juices. So you don't get as much nutritional bang for your buck, so to speak. If you're currently looking for some healthy, sweeter foods to eat that are good for puree, mash up some sweet potatoes with a bit of maple syrup and cinnamon. This also works with butternut squash.

So many doctors are different bc when I researched it many of them okayed baby food. I’m using it more for a “dessert” but it’s puréed fruit instead. The Gerber ones I looked at have no added sugar but they are still high in natural sugar.
