Covid Booster

I am pleased to say that I had no side effects from the Moderna Booster!!! I was prepared because the first two I was hit pretty hard and also from the high-dose flu shot. So this time I was prepared. Thermometer and Advil (I can take Advil on occasion because I had VSG not RNY) next to my bed and an extra blanket handy. Well I guess that is like the umbrella theory. Take an umbrella and you have 10% chance of rain. Leave it home and you have 90% chance of rain! :D;)

Same thing here about much better response to the Moderna booster. My husband had zero side effects from both vaccines and the booster. I felt somewhat unwell the day after vaccine #2. The booster gave me no noticeable side effects, other than the expected somewhat sore arm the next day.

We both received the flu vaccine. Mine was the regular one and hubby's was the 65+ quadrivalent. Again, no side effects for either of us.

We are so blessed to have access to all of these miracle vaccines. Imagine living 100 years ago and going through this pandemic, especially with the delta variant. I shudder to think how our death rates could have been 10 fold or even higher.

Judy, I hope your symptoms pass quickly and you are back to normal asap!

Not sure if I'm going to take a booster. I took the Moderna poke back in Feb and March. Friend and his whole family took theirs in July and just coming out of quarantine last week after they all tested positive. Couple of them had a tough time shaking it.

Good Judy!!! My mom got hers today as well, she’s hoping no side effects - she got pretty sick after the first two shots.

Funny story: Everyone in my family who got Moderna for their original shots got crazy sick after with chills and fevers and headaches. So the day before my Moderna vax I got super prepared. Stocked up on Gatorade and cancelled work meetings (I work from home) and took Tylenol as soon as I got home and had lots of blankets ready next to my bed incase I got chills in the middle of the night. Well......I waited and waited and never had a single side effect LOL. I won’t say I was disappointed but it was a very quiet day seeing I had cleared my schedule incase of the worst!

I got my Pfizer booster, with my mother in law, last Monday. I had a slightly sore arm for 24 hours and that's it. She had a fever, sore throat and fatigue for almost 3 days. However, she also go the pneumonia vaccine at the same time. They say that the older you are, the more likely you are to have side effects. However, the older you are the more dangerous actually getting Covid is, so we all felt a few days discomfort was still well worth the protection from the actual virus.

I totally agree Missy, I would rather feel icky for a day or two than get Covid.
I am feeling better today. At least I never got chills like the last time but I did feel cold. My temp remained at a low grade. Could have been worse!

Perfect timing for this conversation. Started feeling chills, stuffy nose, body aches. Just used the home test and tested positive. Wife is negative. She has not has so much as a sniffle in 4 years. So far it just feels like the flue. See how bad it gets over the next couple days.

I went for my Pfizer booster last week and luckily had no reaction. After the first two shots, I ran a fever of 101 for a day or two. This time I felt fine. I’m in NY too and just beginning my journey. Hopefully if all goes well, I’ll be having my surgery in February.

Welcome to the group fellow New Yorker! I'm in Orange County, what county are you in? Good luck on your journey!
