Just getting started!

Me too! 100 pounds to lose and hoping to get Roux-en-Y surgery. This website is such a wealth of information! I read posts every night before bed and I always discover something new and informative. I’ll admit, some of the posts are surprising and worrisome, but it gives me pause to remember how serious this procedure is. I’m excited but wary at the same time.

Please remember that not everyone will have the same complications and struggles. Some had rare but serious post op complications. Some are struggling to maintain. The fact of the matter is: it IS surgery, and it IS a tool. Surgery can be complicated, but usually isn't. Tools must be used properly in order to work properly.

And some of us that are struggling right now to maintain are struggling through other things as well. Life isn't smooth even when WLS is. I would 100% recommend it and could not be happier with my decision. It has changed my life in many wonderful ways, and I feel better than I have in decades. Right now, I am struggling with 10 lbs. Without this surgery, I'd be struggling with 110, diabetes, high blood pressure; the list goes on.

Have faith in yourself and the process.
