Celebrating WEEK 6

It’s been six weeks since my sleeve surgery. I wanted to celebrate with a “normal” dinner and try something new. We had teriyaki salmon, broccoli and cheesy broccoli rice. I heard rice can be tricky to digest, so I wanted to give it a try. I ate all of the salmon and broccoli and half of the rice. It was my best meal ever! No issues or anything.

Everything seems to be going very well. I did my first sweaty workout yesterday. It’s an old Beach Body workout DVD from years ago. 30 minutes of weights, push ups, lunges and ab crunches. I did really well, except for the damn push ups. I hate those! I’ve lost 38 pounds so far, which is almost halfway to my goal of losing 80. It seems like a slow journey, but I try to remind myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Thank you for the update. Perfect kind of meal for your post-surgery. And doing that workout is awesome sauce!

Losing 38lbs in 6 weeks = 6+lbs a week. That is an incredible amount of weight lost, especially starting at the lower end of the starting weight. Only having another 42lbs to lose is entirely doable, even though the amount you will continue to lose probably will come off more gradually.

Congrats on your progress!

Actually, it’s 38 pounds total since before surgery. I lost 15 pounds on the pre-surgery liquid diet. You’re right, the weight loss is slowing down. I only lost 1.6 pounds last week. I’m not worried because I’m probably gaining a little bit of muscle each week. As long as I lose something, I’m happy.
