Diarrhea

Hey guys! I had gastric sleeve surgery roughly 9 months ago. I’ve just started having stomach cramps and diarrhea after meals. Any ideas or suggestions? I’ve read to increase water intake. I know I’m not getting 64 oz in a day, so I’m making that priority. Dumping syndrome isn’t typical for gastric sleeve but I guess it could be the cause.

I started experiencing the same exact thing but I was a yr post op. I ate the same things so I knew it wasn’t dumping (I never really experienced that anyway but I’m aware of what it is). I ended up going to the ER over severe diarrhea and mild stomach pain. Mostly I was concerned over becoming dehydrated. While we were driving there I had looked up my symptoms but included in the search that I was a bariatric patient. First thing that popped up was gallbladder issues. As soon as they had the IV in me I spoke to the nurse and told her my thoughts on it. They immediately ordered an ultrasound. Within minutes the surgeon was in my room looking at it with her and asked me if I was ready to go back for surgery. At first I thought he was joking because of how blunt he was being but no, he was very serious. I sat there and cried cause obviously I was scared and this was very sudden. After I was in recovery the doctor spoke to my husband and told him my gallbladder was 100% blocked by gallstones. I’m so thankful I went in to the ER that day. I hope your outcome is better than mine was but it doesn’t hurt to get it checked out. Best of luck to you.
