Playing games!

I was really hoping to be in the 200's by my birthday.. but the world wants to play games! haha
I was 300.2 the morning of my birthday! SO CLOSE!!! OH SO CLOSE!!! I haven't been in the 200's for around 8 years!
I am excited to get there. I don't believe I will ever see the 100's with my height but I would like to just for 1 day and then can gain like 15-20 lbs back to be where I want to settle.

Happy birthday girl! You can definitely get in the 190s range and stay there. You have come so far in such a short amount of time. Don’t give up. You are only one month ahead of me regarding surgery dates and I consider us still in the “beginning stages” of our journey. My surgeon said that most of his patients reach their goal weight at 9 months. We will get there!

I don't want to be under 200 lbs. My preference. Although, I may change my mind once I hit my goal of 225 lbs.
I just kinda want to see it on the scale once just to say I did and then end up around 200-225. haha I am weird!
We are kicking butt, keep up the good work!

This is actually quite sensible. The stats of WLS say you can expect to lose 50-70% of your excess weight AND that the majority gain a small percentage back. This of course doesn't mean everyone will gain .. But having a low and a high goal is a really smart move. Especially since you won't spiral emotionally if a small gain happens.

I think I have very reasonable expectations. My surgeon and Dietician agreed. I have NEVER had a desire to be "skinny" but to be healthy and happy . The lowest I have ever weighed as an adult is 258 and I already felt like I was too getting too skinny. The number on the scale really doesn't matter to me at the end of the day. What matters is how I feel when I look in the mirror. That I don't end up with a 3 page list of medical issues like my obese family members, that I can do what I want and live life!
Don't get me wrong, all this comes with weighing less but the actual number is not my obsession and I think it is a great mindset to have through this journey. I obviously don't want to weigh 400 lbs, but I also don't want or need to weigh the "140-180" that these ridiculous charts say I should be to be a "normal BMI". I will always be "over weight" and I am fine with it.

That is such a positive attitude about your journey and reasonable goals. If you are healthier and happier, you will be living a great life. And hey, nothing says you have to stay at a particular weight forever. A few years down the road, you might decide to continue your weight loss journey, or you might decide to stay at your personal goal weight range for life. You doing you is a wise choice! ❤❤
