7 days out

I am 7 days out of sleeve gastrectomy. My pain meds are making me dizzy and nauseous. It is starting a scary trend of not being able to drink enough and not walk like I should. I feel so much worse than I did jn the hospital. Can anyone give me skme pointers?

I hope everything is getting better for you. Healing is a slow process at times. Diane is right you have to give your body time to adjust as well. You just had a surgery that changed the way your stomach function.

you are never alone here. It just takes time for people to answer. I know a couple of people that had surgery at the beginning of this month but they don't get on to much.

I'm 9 days out. Today I feel like I've over sipped. Has anyone had the hunger pains?
I have what seems to be hunger pangs but it is mostly me sipping or eating too quickly I think. I am hungry but I also have found out that the diet they give me is for a reason. My stomach is in transition and I need to follow the diet. That being said I am REALLY looking forward to the puree stage. Btw i am also 9 days post op.

So am I. I asked my nurse was it normal and I was told yes because my body is digesting liquids and not solid or puree. I pray that I haven't stretched anything

Hi Southern- I had the same question about hunger pangs. It is that same sensation, but it came after I downed something. Then I worried that I over did it. For me it was the gas I was warned about. The doctor recommended Gas-X as the solution. That's what helped me.

Southern- you are right where I was a few weeks ago! I worried about the stretching thing, too, up until recently. The doctor said that I'd be howling in major pain if I stretched anything in these early stages. I've read so many scary stories of the people who have gained back all their weight and stretching their stomachs. That takes a concerted effort over a period of time. Just follow your doctors instructions the best you possibly can. I've always been a big gulper of food and drinks of any sort. I had to learn to slow way down.
