I'm glad I found this support group. My gastric sleeve surgery is August 19. I'm looking forward to it, but jittery at the same time. I told my coworkers today that I was having surgery. Didn't relay all the details, but I'm sure the grapevine will distribute the news. I started my journey on Feb 14. With lots of clearances to go, I trudged on the road. Each challenge, I would think this is it, I'm going to get tossed out of the program. Now, the time is close and it is almost here. Just a couple of hops and I will be there. Thanks to my husband, who was not keen on the idea, but soon seen my determination and has came around. Change is not easy for me. Oh BTW, I'm a 61 year old bunny hoping along.

Good luck on your surgery, I too will be having surgery on August 19th but the gastric bypass. I start my liquid diet on the 5th, just 4 days away and this is beginning to get oh so real!

Good Luck!!! I start my preop diet on the 6th. Good to know someone else will be going down the same path.

Wow, @dianeseattle, you're 68? Never would've guessed it. I'm 57---initially, it seems like the only ones I knew/bumped into who had bariatric surgery were real young. I was reading the post on the Medicare question and found out there are some who are older. Gave me encouragement.
