So far so good, I think? 14 days post-op

I really don't crave anything particular, however I seem to crave "hot" food. Can anyone relate? also, at only 1 week post surgery I was able to eat applesauce with no problems. I'm, not even sure how much food I can eat, as I really haven't passed the threshold of overly full. I feel like there's something wrong with me. Christmas has been a trying time to have just had surgery.

First let me say congratulations and I can relate to the cravings you mentioned. I am almost 2 years post op rn.y and when I first had the surgery I can remember really craving something filling. Kind of like you mentioned something hot. I did find that most of my food would end up cold because it would take so long for me to be able to eat it. It took a while for me to get used to eating cold food. It is hard but you can do it. I still remember the first time I was able to eat something solid and I ate scrambled egg. It was the most amazing scrambled egg I have ever had. The holidays are definitely a hard time to have to deal with these changes. If you end up falling off the wagon as they say forgive yourself acknowledge it and let it go. You are human you will make mistakes but if you keep determined and focused it will go by faster. It is a life change completely and will take some time to get used to don't be so hard on yourself good luck and God bless

Congratulations and welcome. :) Nothing is wrong with you, you're just getting used to everything. In the beginning I didn't feel full but never hungry either. My cravings were still there but they were more manageable. Being just a week out, you just need to rest and take everything slowly. You'll be feeling much better soon and just wait until the pounds start falling off. :)

Thank you. I am glad to have found a place where I can talk to others who are like me and who are going through some of the same things. My family and fiancé, however supportive, still don't understand. Just yesterday while out with my mom, she asked if in wanted a chicken sandwich or any other thing, and from McDonalds no less, I just looked at her.

It's great that you have support but you're absolutely right that they don't really get it. They don't mean any harm, they're just clueless. ;)

I was up last night and the night before with horrible belly pain. Im not quite sure how to make it all sound appropriate but theres no other way to say it. Ofcourse my first reaction is get to the bathroom and to the bathroom did i go. My bowel movements have been very very painful yet my stool soft and almost a whitish color( hope this isnt too graphic) i thought i was going to have to wake my husband to take me to hospital. I however made it through and i guess my question is... Has anybody else been through anything similar? Should i call my doctor? Im feel fine now, but another bout like that might be bad for me? If it were something i ate wouldnt it have happened much sooner than 2 a.m

I would definitely call your doctor, I've never had this kind of issue. It's probably nothing but worth the call to put your worries at ease.
