March 11th - Surgerversary!

Hi guys,

Just a quick share – my RNY surgery was 1 year ago today! This has been the most eye-opening, challenging, confidence-boosting, joyous year of my life. I am so grateful that I finally made the decision to pursue surgery, it's such an amazing tool.

Thank you all for being here to share the ups and downs as well as all my significant milestones with me.

If anyone else is celebrating a date, weight, non-scale victory, or milestone, let us all know!!! Your positivity can be contagious.

Wait... Didnt you already have skin surgery? I thought that was for two years out? I'm con-fu-sed.

Congratulations, Brenda on your surgery anniversary. You have been a huge inspiration to me. I loved reading your posts and have learned so much. I hope a year from next week, I can post results as great as yours. BTW, have you been back to the latest surgeon for a report and check-up

Yes I did have my body contouring on Feb 4th. There is no set protocol for when you can have body contouring surgery when insurance isn't paying for any of it.

Surgeons (the ones I consulted with) wanted me at a stable weight for at least 3 months. I reached my goal quickly so was good to go!!!

I have my 6 week post-op with the plastic surgeon Monday. We're actually doing it virtually due to the virus and that's fine by me since he's a 2.5 hour drive each way.

Thank you so much for the compliment. Good luck with the "virtual "check up on Monday. I know that you'll do fine. I have my pre-surgery office visit with the surgeon on Monday - I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm ready. I'm a little nervous, but it seems most people get that way at the end. I'm now finishing up Day 4 on my pre-surgery diet, so far, so good!!
