Here’s the actual origin of Mother’s Day, not originally a commercial holiday. While a day originally set aside for mother’s and their children created by an unwed, motherless woman, Anna Jarvis, hated when it became a national holiday due to the commercialization.Well, you know Mother's Day is just a Hallmark holiday, made to sell greeting cards. I think that for most of us whether we are sons or daughters or mothers, there is a sense of Mother's Day everyday. It's impossible to avoid thinking about your mother on any given day.
I left a message on my son's phone this morning reminding him that it was Mother's Day and telling him I was in his neighborhood and could swing by if he wanted to wish me happy Mother's Day. That's kind of sad isn't it. Anyway I didn't stop by because I didn't get a reply but he just phoned me about a half hour ago and we reminisced Like a mother and a son.
This will always be one of my favorite photos and I think I just posted it the other day so apologies to anyone who has to see it twice. It says my kid and I at 6000 feet in a field of blueberries that was Acres large and perfectly ripe. You just held your hand under a clump of blueberries, and then reached up and they fell into your hands and subsequently to your mouth.

I love that this included the wonderful men out there who fill both roles of mother and father. So often you hear of the opposite but there are those admirable men out there that deserve to be recognized today as well. Those are real men.I wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day <3
