Non Scale Victory!!!

Member
So...I started my journey April 2019. I lost 91pounds prior to my 2/14/2020 RYN. Since then I’ve lost another 79 pounds For a total of 170 pounds. (I started at 541..so I still have quite a way to go.

However what made me really happy today was what happened when I went to get some bloodwork done.
I was able to sit in the chair and close the little swing arm those chairs have. I fit inside the chair!!!

I can’t even remember the last time I was able to do that. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

What is your favorite non scale victory?

Jenn that is a great non scale victory! My favorite so far is that I can fit into shirts I have not worn for years! My wife liked to refer to my prior dress attire as my "uniform" because i have three shirts (all the same color and size that I would wear daily), don't judge me on that because I work from home and never use my camera when we have Webex or Zoom calls. I am the one that always has the black screen while everyone is on video but i think that will be my next non scale victory will be to go on the camera soon. At least with my new shirts they will not see the same blue shirts i wear each day.

Jenni congratulations on your tremendous weight loss! You will continue losing more weight and celebrating many many more victories. I’m on day 11 post op and can’t wait to have those non scale victories in the future. For example. Walking without back and knee pain,Fitting in a booth at a restaurant and not asking for a table, being able to ride the newer roller coasters at Six flags great America from 15 years ago lol! also being able to dance again the whole night like I used to without feeling like I’ll get a heart attack in the first 2 mins and so many other things I’m currently limited because of my weight.

Congratulations Jenn on your victory!!! It's such a great feeling when we have a non scale victory! My favorite non scale victory at this time is fitting into my hubby's tshirts.. I've taken ownership of 2 of them.. although I keep them in his dresser, so he hasn't caught on that they really are mine now. I've never been able to fit into my significant others shirts, so this was a very big win to me. Again, Congratulations.. there will be many more wins coming your way! Good luck!!

I will just name one-- someone blessed me with a suit- i could fit in it- march 2020, and walk in a room.
sis.

My mom sent me some clothes and I previously hated getting clothes in the mail since it wouldn't fit 9 times out of 10. I don't go to thre post office to send stuff back lol! I fussed and told my mom not to buy me anything, she sent some medium clothes anyway and I was terrified they wouldn't fit me, but they do! I'm down from an 18 pant to a size 10!

I’m adding this one to my list. That sounds comfy.

Needed a new suit (mother-in-law has covid and she's 91 and my mother is 92, and a wedding to attend in October). Went to get fitted for one. Normally, Omar the tent maker makes the jacket and it works, not looking good, but it works. Today, I looked sharp in the suit, and I had to have the waist of the coat taken in to the point that I have a TAPERED LOOK!!!!! Even my son said I looked good in the suit!

If you don’t mind sharing, what size did you start at? I am 3 months post op rny and only losing 10 pounds a month now. Morning of surgery was 217 now I am 179. I am able to cross my legs much easier than I ever was able to.
