7 years out...100 pounds back. Looking for support

Hi Jaimaroo, I'm sorry you're going through such difficulties, but I'm glad you're on the path to healing. I also had my surgery in 2015 and have recently started gaining weight due to medical issues preventing me from exercising the way I used to and eating any kind of way. It is very...

    Medical issues and gaining

Lol! I'm glad you all made it through alive! I'm also glad that you got some exercise in, even if not as much as you wanted to. I walked again with a friend about two miles. I was very busy today and also had physical therapy with new therapists. They nearly did me in, making me hurt so much...

    Medical issues and gaining

Good for you for keep finding ways to get summer movements in! Where do you live? I'm in California, the San Francisco Bay Area. It's been raining off and on, but not too bad... so far.

    Medical issues and gaining

Hi Missy (if that's what you go by), I walked with friends yesterday, just over 2 miles. Not strenuous, but it was enough for me. I was to start my swimming class today, but it was just orientation. I start on Thursday. Looking forward to that. I didn't exercise today but I did it more walking...

    Medical issues and gaining

Just asked; I have no problem explaining terms I've used. The Oculus is virtual reality gaming console by Meta (formallyFacebook). And Supernatural is an exercise game you can play using the Oculus. My medical issues aren't related to the bariatric surgery. In April 2023, I had a large liver...

    Medical issues and gaining

My doctor stated that I wouldn't cause any worse damage by exercising and that I can do as much as I can tolerate. They say yoga might be good for me and that I should try it. I'm not sure how much I believe that. I'm going to see a specialist next week. I would love to buddy up with you and...

Weight gain after nearly 5 years

Be kind to and forgive yourself. Life changes definitely throws everything off. You'll find your groove after you figure out how to fit in exercise with your new life.

    Medical issues and gaining

I'm 9 years out from surgery. In 2023, I started having medical issues (not related to bariatric surgery) that cause me pain and prevents me from exercising like I used to. Because of this, I've started gaining weight. Before I was maintaining at less than 10 lb from my goal weight, now I'm more...

    Back from cruise

Good for you! And it's good to hear what I'll hopefully look forward to. I am feeling better than I did a month ago, when I had the surgery, but still got a ways to go. Glad you did well on Thanksgiving. What's a little deli ham? :)

Just had surgery on 10/29, new to the site, and looking for discussion partners

Right now, I'm still on liquids and soft foods. Will see the doctor for the first time after the surgery on the 14th. Hoping to get the okay for real food. I keep dreaming of eating amuse-bousche sized delicacies. I'm doing okay though. Avoiding the commercials, and when I do see foods I'd...

    Change of surgery

I'd say God answered your prayers. He knows what's best while we remain ignorant of what's good for us. I'm glad you trust God, 'cause only he knows our future.

Oh yes, we all need to not overdo any of it, including drinking too much water at once. I add stevia to the yogurt. It's not the greatest, but it's something different. Isn't it why they give us so much time off... to relearn how to eat? My pain isn't that bad, I may take medicine later today...

    It's hard to imagine

Thanks for your inputs and encouragements. I did ask a couple of times about greek yogurt (I get the plain) and they said it was fine. On my third day at the hospital they gave me pudding. I will still double check on Monday. I'll leave out the eggs until later, as they can quickly get too hard.
