Hospitalization, Homecoming and a new start

LOL. My stomach is going to be 2-3 oz. larger than yours. One long suture but no re-plumbing so less invasive a little better absorption. You may already know this, but just in case, the sleeve has been in existence for quite awhile but was used as a surgery for high risk patients who couldn't...

    Hands swell after eating?

My son and a few of his coworkers get stuffy noses after eating. Their nasal passages actually swell. We know this because Motrin will reduce the stuffiness but nose spray won't. He thinks it has something to do with circulation. I'm wondering if it is scent? It is a puzzle. Let us know if you...

    Hands swell after eating?

Could it be something in the food prep? Like salt or some spice or oil or something that you cook with each time? Can you try listing what food, spice, etc is in each meal, then tracking your physical reactions at what time & intensity after each meal for a week or two and see if there is any...

Count down to surgery - 11 days

Enjoy your turkey. It is all so exciting. I had my pre op today and that went fine. But I didn't get the tour and more personal touch like you did. I think that is a nice touch. Mine was all business conducted by all very friendly and personable professionals. Now is the final countdown.

Things we can do post op & when

 I'll be in surgery this time next Monday! I have been thinking about and anticipating what I will be able to do right after surgery when I get home. Will I be able to do the laundry? Cook? Walk the dog? Feed the dog! Load the dishwasher? Vacuum & scrub? Do the boogie woogie? If not...

    Lesson learned

This is all so interesting. To me a protein bar is a candy bar on steroids. I figure I may as we'll be honest and eat a candy bar. I too am not as satisfied after eating them as another type of high protein snack is; but they are handy on the run. That's why I'm thinking they are in the candy...
