I am 12 weeks post op bypass w/gallbladder removal today and barely tolerating foods besides yogurt, vegetable soup, cereal, multigrain crackers and beans. I had a grilled chicken tender the other night and was burping for about an hour afterwards. I miss eating food, anyone have any advice?? I should add that I'm taking a daily OTC prilosec.

That’s interesting because I am just the opposite. Sometimes when I eat, the food sits “hard” in my stomach and I wait and wait for a burp to help it digest. I usually have to go for a walk to get the burps going. For me, burps are a good thing.

Sometimes adjustment to actual food can be very slow. I belch a lot when I am too full. A chicken tender may seem small but you may need to start even smaller. Sometimes I can only do an ounce or two of grilled or baked meat. I still digest slow cooked, ground or shredded meats better.
