I'm pretty happy today as I crossed over into the 250s, which I haven't been since the early 2000s, and I also have reached a total weight loss of 50lbs, with 40lbs since surgery. Weight loss has slowed down and seems to be on a fairly even pace the last three weeks of 3-4 pounds a week after my initial weight dump during the first three weeks. I'm very happy with that, but I'm mentally prepared for a stall at some point.

Moving around is so much easier. It's hard to imagine what it will be like in another 50 lbs from now.

Although I'm really trying to make my goals related to non-scale victories....sometimes you do have reason to celebrate the scale too! :)

Congratulations . Super awesome

Has anyone had problems with their gallblader? The test said I have sludge in my gallbladder.
Are you pre or post surgery? Gall bladder issues can be present prior to surgery due to many different medical and health factors. Post surgery, it is often associated with rapid weight loss and can precede gallstones. Usually, they prescribe ursodiol for post-surgery patients to take to prevent the formation of gallstones. The sludge usually doesn't require specific treatment and can often be resolved through good, healthy food choices.

I would ask your doctor some more questions about it, but gall bladder issues for bariatric patients is not too unusual before or after surgery.

I had my surgery June 2.

I have stalled again in my weight loss. Getting very frustrated . I evn started walking and back to work im always moving. I dont eat over 600 calories which my nutritionist said to eat between 300-600 daily. I am very happy with the 35lbs I've lost since July 15th, just thought I would have lost more. Im hitting my protein and water. Just frustrating.

CC, are you sure about that number? You're almost two months out and the most you eat is 600 calories a day, but, you're allowed to eat as few as 300 calories a day? I would say your body is definitely in starvation mode and you're not going to lose any more weight until you give it something to eat.

And if you don't give it something to eat it will start to eat at your muscles. So it seems like there may be a misunderstanding here. I have never heard of anyone whose calorie intake didn't advance significantly by the time she was 8 weeks out.

How about other members? Do you remember what your calorie intake was at 7 or 8 weeks?

Congratulations on the 35lb you've lost. I think you should call your nutritionist, though, and maybe even before you call, do a little research at other bariatric hospital sites here on the internet. See what stage of the diet they're at and how many calories they take in a day.

I don't know how many pounds overweight you are, but I'm guessing until seven or eight weeks ago you were eating two to three times more than you're eating now. Going into a sudden fast, which is virtually what it is, is going to cause your body to be alarmed and to fight at whatever is now invading it.
I know i thought the same thing when my nutritionist told me that. She said she wanted me on that calorie intake until my next appointment in 3 months. I was 227 when I started my journey. Lost 8lbs before surgery so I was 221 at surgery. I also feel very hungry a lot which I thought would kinds subside as my stomach is smaller. I know I'm an impatient person so I'm trying hard to not get down on my weight loss journey. I just need to vent sometimes and then I am good lol

I had to google calories since my program offers literally no calorie guidelines. Turns out the national recommendation does say the first 2 months 300-600 calories. So, you might want to check with her again as I can't imagine that they want you to keep that intake for another 3 months, since you can now eat regular food, which has more calories than protein shakes and broth. I had surgery 6/22 and I am averaging about 900 calories a day. My program doesn't focus on calories because if you're eating all of your protein requirement, you can't really eat very much more yet. Add an ounce of veggies to dinner and you're stuffed lol
Now, about your weight loss. You're averaging a little over 4 lbs a week. Which is a bit more than I am , and a little less than Ryan here, who is KILLING IT!! (Congrats again!!) I am 50, so I expect to lose slower than someone younger, and Ryan is a man and started out heaver than you did, so he is going to lose faster. My point is, you seem to be right about where you're supposed to be. We knew it wasn't a miracle cure and it takes time. If you lost any faster, it could be detrimental to your health. Don't get down on yourself or your weight loss journey. It IS a journey .. they take time and effort. :D

Thank you so much for the uplifting!! Its so weird bc i haven't had the very stuffed feeling unless i eat a lot. I feel that my surgeon didn't make my pouch small enough LOL. That is just me being in my own head. I am feeling great though and some confidence is coming back. I am too hard on myself but that is a work in progress :). I was 188lbs this morning :) wahooooo.

I feel the same way as you do.I feel bad because a lot of you have problems eating I dont.I am still losing weight but it has slow down since I went on regular food. I am probably older then most of you,I started late because I hoped that my daughter would catch on. My daughter is seeing the weight doctor now,but not for the surgery. My surgery was June second. One thing that is good I don't have cravings.
