6 Days Post Op

My name is Peggy and I am 6 days Post op. I started stage 2 diet for breakfast and lunch. I sleep through the night without getting up for pain meds. During the day I go six hours between meds. I had the RYGB and the main spot does not give much pain its lower that I get pain when going from sitting to standing or standing to sitting. I am thinking its the connection to larger intestine, I follow up with doctor on Wednesday. Took the dogs for a walk this morning before it got hot. I add protien to everything even in first week so I feel pretty good. I am still talking naps but I know my body requires sleep to heal. Can't wait to see my body transform.

I'm not sure if this will help anybody. I use a topical pain cream with 4 percent lidocain for my knee. I am able to walk better after applying. Have arthritis. So I thought I would mention it. I know the incision site is tender . Just a little FYI

Thanks Diane. I have wanted this for so long so I am journaling my experience. I work fulltime as a Benefits Officer so I am able to work at home. I have shared my journey with co-workers I want to inspire others to make healthy choices for themselves. I plan to get online today and if pain is gone I will go in Monday for half a day. I plan to stop in Wed after doctor's appointment just to process a couple things. I spoke in front of 1900 people and saw the play back cant wait until next year when I will be half my size. I know no one sees my size but me so this journey has been for me and my health. I am planning a Disney trip next summer with three of my grandsons and I will be able to keep up with them. Currently I would not be able to due to the pain in my knees. That too should improve. 7

Yes you can mine is prescribed by my MD. It's called ancecream with 4% lidocain. I put it on 3-4 times a day if necessary. Mostly twice a day. It's a topical anesthetic cream.i can't live without it!!

Hi Peggy! Congratulations on your surgery and wonderful to read your positivity and expectations for yourself! Can’t wait to see future updates. You seem to have recovered well, and I hope the lower pain heals or becomes tolerant.
What protein are you using to add to everything? What do you add it to? How does it taste?

Mama Bear. I order a sample of Unjure. I don't care for their drinks but the powders I added now to pudding and soup. Before I added to jello. Soups or brouth I just add a big serving teaspoon not a measuring spoon. Jello added a whole packet to big jello box. Pudding tried the small box with whole packet going back to big box. I now have cream of wheat and I add my premiere protien chocolate is the only one I like. It's 8 days from surgery down two pounds from preop weight. All the water weight they added to me finally gone. Hoping to go to work next week; worked 2 1/2 hours yesterday and then crashed. Of course, didn't help my part time assistant sent an email she was resigning that was a wasted 6 months if training.

Tomorrow I have my follow up with surgeon. Bowels finally have awaken no more stool softners. Yesterday I worked 2 1/2 hours then crashed until 530 pm. Today was better worked 2 hours and felt pretty good. No pain meds today just the chewable kids Tylenol this morning. Love hanging with my motley crew, my two dogs and two cats.
