Hi All well I'm 7 weeks post op and am onto reintroducing foods. Had 2 incidents where, I dud something wrong but have learned my lesson.
I am finding foods I used to love, I can no longer stand. I guess my tastes have changed.
I have made a meal plan for this week from a slow cooker bariatric cookbook I got on my kindle so tomorrow I start cooking again.

I'm still struggling with my protein intake but food is starting to give me what i need. I'm trying to eat high protein foods.

I'm up to half cup of food. My weight as of today 217.4.

Slow and steady. Sometimes things you eat 1 day, won't like you the next. It is weird and a learning curve.
I can eat any type of chicken, cooked anyway you can imagine. But I can't eat COLD chicken! I tried twice and both times it made me so sick for hours.

Thanks. It's so funny how your tastes change with this journey.

I have a follow up with my surgeon on the 19th I think. I'm going to mention this pinching sort of burning I have in the area where my band port was. It went away for a while but now it's back.

Also, I have a headache today. I'm not surprised since I ate practically nothing yesterday. Nor did I drink anything. A combination of heat, very busy, not hungry and just not into anything.
I did make some cucumber water so I'm drinking that today hoping it will help with the dehydration.
Still haven't eaten anything but some hummus. I'm thinking about making a nice, icy, chocolate banana protein shake.
Hopefully if I can't eat because of the heat, drinking something cold maybe.
I do have chickpea curry in the slow cooker. From one of my bariatric cookbooks. I will have it with cauliflower rice the fam will have it with brown rice.

Slow cooked meals are my jam lol I just find them much easier to digest.
Since your not looking for hot meals right now, think about kidney bean salad (or other beans), deviled eggs, chicken/tuna salads, yogurt parfaits etc.

Care to elaborate on the bean salad?

Glad you are trying to rehydrate. That probably will help you more than almost anything. Btw if you don't mind, please post on the Recipes Thread your chickpea curry crockpot recipe. Omg the typing suggestion for "crockpot" came up as "crackpot" lol

Was thinking of those but the mayo has been making me gag as is yogurt. I don't know what happened to my taste. But I did get a nice chocolate, banana cinnamon icy protein shake in. I had some mozz balls, hummus and 1 falafel. Dinner no cauliflower rice just the chicken pea curry.

I love the idea of bean salad thank you, I will get that going :)

Hahaha that's why I started using slow cooker lol

Ok I will

Also, I for any mayo that a recipe calls for I use 1/3 light mayo, 1/3 p!ain Greek yogurt and 1/3 light sour cream. That seems to hit the sweet spot flavor and texture wise for me. But experiment until you find a tasty mix!
