My wife recently got her final approval for the surgery. She'll be going in at the end of June, almost exactly 2 years after I had my surgery. She will be getting the bypass as opposed to the sleeve (which is the surgery I had), as she's been a long-time reflux sufferer.
She's going through most of the normal pre-surgery anxiety/questions/doubts/excitement, although having watched my experience, I think she feels pretty confident about the whole thing. I'll be taking some time off and will work 100% from home for a few weeks during that time to support her.
As far as my journey goes, now that the weather is improving, I am appreciating how much more mobile and energetic I am compared to where I was two years ago. I'm buzzing around our property building stuff for our gardens, landscaping and enjoying the outdoors. I'm excited for my wife to feel that same relief I felt on my back, knees and body overall. She loves to work outside too, and I know it's going to be so much easier for her in the not too distant future.
