Air pockets in your chest

Do the air pockets and pain associated with drinking liquids ever go away and if so when. Wondering if drinking from a straw and getting air pockets in my throat is my new normal ):

me too no straws because you suck in air and that takes space in the pouch.

Was just told that no staws or chewing gum which also promotes air. No carbonated drinks either.

Yeah crazy right? Nutrionist told me this week. Never thought about it before.

Man, I love to chew gum because my mouth is always so dry ( I think from my antidepressant which I take for a driving anxiety).
I think the dry mouth is really messing up my teeth. I sure would like to get off that med but not right now with all the changes that are about to begin. I will also miss my Coke Zero and my Diet strawberry limeade from Sonic.
