Am I the only one?

Hi all! I had a gastric sleeve Jan 2021. My highest weight was 380, I lost 114 lbs total so far. I NEVER burped before surgery but now I burp constantly, even if I fast, eat slow, don’t drink through a straw, etc
I had my gallbladder out 8 months after my surgery and it didn’t help. Today I had an upper GI to check for a hiatal hernia but that was not the problem. The radiologist stated that everything is going through my stomach faster than usual and may not be breaking down my food and I not only have air in my belly I have gas build up all throughout my gut, abdomen and everywhere. He said it has something to do with the small end of the stomach.
It’s embarrassing and has hendered me even from going out to eat because I burp so much. Has anyone else had this problem??
Also does anyone know of any Bariatric sites that are your go-to.

You may not be drinking enough water. You need at least 6 to 8 glasses a day to help restore your balance. I measured out my water, added a squeeze of lemon and kept it in the refrigerator. When the pitcher or bottle was empty, I knew I had met my goal. And the weight melted off.

Also, make sure you weigh and measure everything you eat. If you're obese, it's fairly scientific to assume you're overeating. That's the one thing most people deny, but they don't count things like licking the serving spoon or eating scraps off the plates of others while doing the dishes.

Try drinking more water and make sure you weigh and measure. For instance, I learned from this group that a portion of meat should be about the same size as a pack of cards. That was really helpful for me. It took me 14 months to lose 115 pounds, but it was by combining all those things that it happened.

And you can snack throughout the day by deducting your snack portion from your total portion.

It really helps to keep a food journal. Write down everything you plan to eat in a day. Put check boxes next to each item and when you've checked all the boxes, you're done. Journalling helps keep track, but also really makes you aware of cheating. Even a little sneaky bite "just to taste it" adds to your total.

Even with surgery, meeting your total weight goal is hard. That's why it's helpful to write everything down. If you see that you meet your goal before dinner, the urge to eat more will cause you discomfort from being hungry, and that should motivate you to adjust the time between portions so you actually feel hungry but also feel okay about it. We become obese by eating anything we want, anytime we want it. That is a habit you have to change. It's hard, but you CAN do it.

One other thing that really helped me was saying affirmations. I'd go for a short walk and all the time I'd be saying affirmations in my head. "Everything I eat turns to health and beauty" is one I got from "THE ONLY DIET THERE IS," which is not a diet book, but a "diet from negative thinking." The more affirmations you say, the more you build your self-esteem, and the less you want to overeat and experience the shame that comes from failure, which is a real trigger to sabotage yourself.

Try incorporating fermented foods, kefir, and kombucha into your diet. Just a little at a time. The good bacteria will help you digest your food. At first you might have more gas, but after the bad bacteria is reduced, the burping might go away. Kombucha is naturally carbonated, so that might not help with the burping. There are recipes online for making your own cultured food. Cultured Food Life is one of the sites and there is a podcast.
