APP for Bariatric Patients

I found this cool app called BARITASTIC and wanted to share. It was designed for Bariatric patients. I am definitely going to use it after I have my surgery. I hope someone else finds it helpful too.

  • Setup daily reminders for water, protein shakes, vitamins and supplements.
  • Track inches lost.
  • Take photos and create a photo timeline.
  • Track hunger, happiness and even bowel movements.
  • Integrate with major wearable devices to track steps.
  • Access bariatric friendly recipes.
  • Track your body mass index (BMI).
  • Count down to surgery and track days since surgery.
  • Seminar to surgery checklist to stay on track and get approved.
  • Bariatric timer that separates food and water.
  • A bite timer that helps you slow down while eating.

A lot of us here use it! It's a great app.

I've used Baritastic since my surgery on 8/5/21. It is great. As with all apps, some of the items are not accurate but overall they are pretty reliable. I love the app and used the water counter for at least 3-4 months until I got the hang of it and don't need that anymore but I still count all of my food in the app. Don't use the exercise as much but it synchs to my Iwatch and Iphone so it automatically tells me what exercise I have gotten without me needing to input.

It asks if you have a code from your surgeon. Anyone know about that?

Some bariatric centers have code that you can use to connect the app to your specific program. It'll give you your programs specific goals etc. Mine did not connect, but you can ask your doctor.

I actually love this app so much!! My husband is going to be having WLS very soon. The one thing I like about MYFITNESSPAL is that it allows you to be "friends" with someone and copy their meals, which is very convenient when you're married and eating the same foods. So, I sent Baritastic a message asking if I was able to do that on their app. They said it should be available later this year!!

Not that this is going to be an issue for everyone, but I cook. It would be really nice to be able to share info. Even for those whose spouses/family haven't had surgery but still track their intake.
