Back pain after surgery

Hi, D!

Are you sure your pain isn't related to trapped C02?

As the gas tries to exit through muscle and skin, it can feel like you're being stabbed. Not stabbing pain; like being attacked by a knife.

The only cure is to move your body. Touch your toes. Stretch over and over. Roll back and forth in your bed. Take hot showers with a massager head.

It doesn't last long but it's almost unbearable. I found it best to sleep through it. Others are more proactive and go for walks.

It can't hurt to sit in the lotus and bend forward. If you can, fart like crazy.

In the event it's not gas, talk to your team.
Thank you for the information. No it was not related to the gas from the surgery. I have had previous surgeries where they used gas and I knew what it felt like and this wasn't the same. I called my doctor's office and we determined that is coming from my acid reflex med that I was prescribed after the surgery. I am stopped the meds and the muscle cramps have almost totally left. Thank God.

Thank you ladies for your help. Between me and the surgeon we have determined that the severe muscle cramps was from the acid reflex medicine that I prescribed after my surgery. They have told me to discontinue it unless I start having problems with heartburn and gas. Since I stopped the medicine, thank God the cramping has left up and I feel much better. Was able to get some quality rest!

So glad to hear that a solution was found for you! I hope you don't have any acid reflex issues but if you do perhaps avoiding certain foods might correct that without medication. Glad you are finally able to get the rest you need!
