Baked Ricotta Cheese

Description

This dish tastes just like the warm, comforting inside of a lasagna without the heavy noodles and carbs. it's incredibly gentle on the stomach, packed with high-quality protein, and completely satisfying.

Ingredients (8)

  • 8 oz Ricotta cheese (part-skim)
  • 1 large Egg (beaten)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 pinch Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup Marinara sauce (no sugar added)
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded, low-fat)

Cooking instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a small baking dish or ramekin with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix together the ricotta cheese, beaten egg, grated parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared baking dish. Smooth the top, then pour the no-sugar-added marinara sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the marinara sauce.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown on top. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
