Hello to all,
trying to find the best, most experienced bariatric surgeon/doctor in the Seattle metro area. I am not wanting surgery, per se, but I’ve had numerous post by-pass medical Issues that I think are directly related to lack of absorption of a number of vitamins and minerals, specifically, iron, vitamin D and B12. additionally, I have been on a general health decline and I just am having difficulty trying to find the root cause. All I know is, I was in good health (other than excess weight) before by-pass surgery in 2013 and slowly I have disintegrated to practically being unable to have enough energy to walk 30 feet. Obviously, something is wrong and I need to find a really good bariatric doctor to help me. Please reach out to me if you know of a superstar doctor who specializes in bariatric post surgery problems. Thank you.

I had a fantastic doctor in 2007, but he's long retired. However, I was enrolled in a university study for six years after that and got to experience a lot of additional services and resources. I'd suggest you consult first with the University of Washington, which is where I had many contact and programs that really enhanced my recovery. I also had a lot of help from Franciscan Health, but my opinion is that programs that are attached to HMOs change with the speed of whiplash. Find out if you can have multiple interviews or consultations with different providers. But if you can't, understand that your experience may be completely opposite of anyone else's. Get an appointment with your family doctor, start talking and then go with your gut. Best of luck to you.
