I had my one month appointment with my surgeon on Sept. 14. (I'm a little slow in posting this because I've been down with sciatica etc and had written this but not posted it then) . First of all, I lost 8 more pounds. When I went to my post surgery one week appt., I lost 12 lbs from my pre surgery appt with the surgeon. I am really thrilled to finally go under the 200 mark. The Dr. said that he was very happy with my loss, and also happy that I haven't been having any problems. Then, he showed me to the next office where the nutritionist was waiting. (Previously, I only talked to her on the phone) I guess things are beginning to get back to normal since the pandemic. ) I advanced to Stage IV, Post Operative Diet, which is Soft Diet for Weeks 5 - 8., with many new items. She answered a few of my questions. I asked when I could have coffee again and she said now, a month after surgery. But, only one cup a day of regular. I told her that I usually have one cup at night and she said if I wanted decaf, I could have it. BTW, I asked the Dr. about my runny nose since the surgery and he said that he never heard of it. I went from the Dr's office to the supermarket, and bought some things on my new list. I was Looking forward to Turkey Chili and Turkey Tacos and my husband (my chef and coach) didn't disappoint, they both were delicious. Also, I bought turkey meatballs, which are on my list and premade chicken patties. I hope I'll be able to digest all of these new items. Last night, he made zucchini, mushrooms and diced tomatoes with grilled chicken, again delicious. So, hang in there, it does get better.
I know small bites and chew 20-25 times! Thank you for letting me share this milestone with all of you--my support group.
