Changes in Appetite

I know it's summer so my cravings for meat just simply decreases every now and then where I want something light like a good salad, cold pasta salad, veggies etc. I don't like the oven heating up the place when it's over 100 outside. Some of the stuff that was a go to for me just isn't ready to eat. Normally this would last for a few days. Normally this only lasts a few days. Since the heat skyrocketed 2 weeks ago and has been going up and down my appetite has shifted away from meat and where I normally have no problems with wanting a protein shake. I'm having to cut the liquid in half to just a few ounces and toss it back to keep from feeling bloated. I've had a couple days where I just skipped all protein all together and just stuck with greens and good complete carbs. Immediately the morning after my first visit to the toilet consisted of cleansing my colon of all trespassers inside me. (Slept fine) Then I eat some eggs and/or with a protein shake and it's like nothing happened and no bowel movement for a day or two. Problem is though I'm still not really craving any meat or fish despite having a lot of tasty recipes to choose from. I feel like I'm forcing myself for protein even though I'm mixing in veggies with the protein. The veggie day or two craving is going on a couple weeks now. What I crave is green romaine salad, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, ricotta cheese, pesto, red wine vinaigrette, Italian dressing, pickled mushrooms, couscous etc. It's like my body is telling me it needs those nutrients even though I'm taking bariatric pal duodenal switch pack with one a day with iron. Has anyone else experienced this craving for more greens and less or no protein?

When it gets really hot I like to grill chicken or fish then put it in the fridge and add it to salads. But I eat less of everything when it’s super hot. I just try to keep my liquids up and drink cold protein shakes and yogurts.

I've had pretty much no desire to eat most meat since I had surgery and I'm almost all plant-based now, but I still eat eggs, greek yogurt, some cheese and occasionally fish. I was a huge meat eater prior to surgery, and although I intended to fundamentally change the way I eat after surgery, I didn't think I'd be practically vegetarian, but I am and that is what I desire. The amazing thing to me is I actually enjoy eating more than I used to.

It feels like it's a permanent thing for me, but who knows, things may change again at some point. It hasn't affected my muscle mass or weight loss in any negative way that I can discern. I have to do a bit more to get enough protein. I mix as many high-protein plants as possible into single meals, but I will still supplement with a protein bar or shake if necessary to get enough.

Do you like tuna? I've posted this before but I'll do it again. These are so convenient, just open and eat it and they are good!
Tuna Infusions. Just our size too.
